Ambassador: Loki

Loki Crested Gecko

Species: Crested Gecko

Gender: Male

Loki has been at the store for two years and was a rescue given to Stuart by a breeder (who received him when he was returned to her by a former customer). Loki’s previous owner fed him an improper diet of exclusively crickets. When Stuart received Loki, he suffered from a severe case of metabolic bone disease (MBD). Loki’s bones were so soft that he required immediate emergency care and isolation. Loki’s condition was so severe that he struggled to move and his condition would have been fatal without intervention. After being given a steady diet of Repashy Crested Gecko Meal Replacement Powder and extra calcium, Loki slowly recovered but his permanent disfigurement serves as a reminder about the importance of proper nutrition for reptiles. Loki got his name from the Norse God of Mischief because he is always up to something.
